Low Wind Velocity Turbines (LWVTs) are designed to generate electricity efficiently in areas with wind speeds between 3 to 6 meters per second. They feature larger blades with optimized aerodynamics made from lightweight composites to maximize energy capture. These turbines often use direct-drive systems to eliminate gearboxes, reducing mechanical losses and maintenance requirements. Additionally, permanent magnet generators are commonly used to enhance efficiency and reliability.
